Sanskaras (einnig nefnt samskaras)

No one can escape karma. Even unconscious activities like breathing involve karma. After karma gives its results, it leaves a residual effect called Sanskaras. Sanskaras are the deep-rooted impressions in the subconscious mind which regulate our drives and activities. Sanskaras survive after death and determind our next incarnation, our inner aptitudes and tendencies.

Spiritual evolution means to eradicate old sanskaras and to stop producing new sanskaras. Sanskaras are produced by ego and attachment. One an reduce sanskaras by acting as an instrument, without likes and dislikes. One can produce sanskaras by mental attachments, without doing any physical activities.

Deep sanskaras are like carvings in a stone. They are hard to remove. Sanskaras are deepened by repetition. If one smokes, in the beginning he does not like it. As one repeats it, he begins to like it. Then he craves it. One is addicted. Addiction is nothing but accumulated sanskaras. Some sanskaras are negligible, like drawing a line on water. They do not register in the mind. Other sanskaras are shallow, like drawing  a line in the sand. They can be removed easily. Sanskaras build our character. Sanskaras survive death and are continued in the next life.

The best method of avoiding sanskaras is to keep away from associations which produce desires. Enjoy being in the present, be an instrument, renounce the desires and mental attachments. Give up strong likes and dislikes. If one remains a passive witness or works with awareness as being an instrument, one will escape sanskaras. Sanskaras are responsible foe bondage and transmigration (rebirth).

Don´t worry. I know who I am

suzuki-II

I went up to Suzuki Roshi´s room not long before his death. He was in bed, extremely weak, his skin discolored. He bowed, and I did the same. Then he looked right at me an said, not with a loud voice but firmly, “Don´t grieve for me. Don´t worry. I know who I am.”

You Are Potentially Vast and Infinite...

... not realizing this truth makes you realize illness and sickness of all kinds. Kriyayoga practice is an ancient and ever-new master technique to make you realize your REAL NATURE. Thus, Kriya yoga practice solves all problems of life.

Guruji Swami Shree Yogi Satyam

Conscious realization of one's unity with the spirit is the goal of life, and, consciously or unconsciously, every person is trying to advance towards that end. When he realizes his unity with the universal Self - his own spiritual existence - a person becomes one with the universe.

Cosmic consciousness is spread all over the universe and pervades everything. Human consciousness is limited to the human body and its environment. To attain cosmic consciousness, it is necessary to expand the consciousness that resides in every living cell of the body and brain.

Kriya practice clears and stimulates the brain and gives strength. It also greatly magnetizes the body, saturating and feeding all its physical cells with undecaying light and keeping them in a magnetized state.  Spirit is Self-born. Spirit is ever-conscious. God's attention is equally distributed everywhere and is fully concentrated everywhere. We human beings, being made in His own image, have latent within us the power to concentrate our attention and to feel our existence everywhere.

Through properly following the laws of living and through faithful practice of Kriya Yoga, a person can enlarge his consciousness and quickly reach the ocean of cosmic consciousness, or divine spirit.  The science of Kriya Yoga is that knowledge which, when it is applied to the internals of man, allows him to realize his ever-present unity with God and perceive that whatever he is doing is done only by the power of God, who is activating his whole system and directing all of his activities.

It is better to practice a little than talk a lot

Take stock of yourself and your habits and find out what is standing in your way

The moon is not reflected clearly in ruffled water but only on its calm surface. True love for God is manifested through calmness of the mind. Calmness is the living breath of God's immortality within you. Be introspect. Take stock of yourself and your habits and find out what is standing in your way.

Paramahamsa Yogananda

The universe is within each one of us

Each time I sit before you I want to convey the most important thing. I want people to experience this greatness, this vastness, what may be called this mysterious universe that, without doubt, is within each one of us. It’s pretty hard to describe, but when we use phrases like "cultivate your own spirit," the word "spirit" includes the whole universe, and this is what I want to share with the hope that people may experience it for themselves.
