Loving and Divine Ones,

On the occasion of Passover and Easter, I am sending my love, best wishes, and sincere prayers to all of you during my time of seclusion and sadhana.

While the world was silently sleeping, and in spite of Jesus’ repeated cautions, his followers could not stay awake. Jesus was in deep contemplation and prayer in the Garden of Olives. He was preparing to face the most difficult humiliation, chastisement, and persecution of his life. During these last days he taught two things:
1. Learn to give, and
2. Learn to forgive.

Trees receive nutrition and water from the soil, carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and sunlight from the sky. They give us fruit, flowers, wood, shelter, shade, oxygen, and coolness. Every part of the tree is useful for the entire creation. We must learn to give as much as possible with our thoughts, words, and deeds.

The human mind is always reactive, retaliating, critical, and judgmental. We expect a lot from others. When the slightest expectation is not fulfilled, we react and do not hesitate to speak ill of others. Even more so, it is difficult to forgive if someone hurts us by mistake or intentionally. The ordinary mind cannot forgive even those who have been good to us, if by chance they made a mistake. We do not look at our own mistakes; we focus on the mistakes of others. Jesus prayed on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34)

During these special days of reflection and contemplation, let us pray to God and Jesus to bless us with the ability to give and to forgive.
